About Basil Creek Photography

When I first started photographing anything and everything, my grandmother would pour over each and every picture I sent her. Because the smell of basil reminds me of both her and the pasta sauce she would prepare, I incorporated the herb into my business name as a means of honoring her support.

With regards to the word “creek,” it is an element of nature; something that is essential for my spirit. Any type of nature provides for a beautiful background for a portrait. The movement of wind evokes such emotion in a photograph, bodies of water can portray tranquility in an image, and varying shades of Midwest greens provide a perfect dark backdrop.

I am forever hunting for the most precious spot to shoot all the special people.
